Josephine Osikena

Josephine Osikena manages the Foreign Policy Centre's programme on democracy and development. Josephine's research is principally (but not exclusively) focused on Africa. She has developed considerable expertise in the areas of economic growth, technology, regional integration, women and development, migration and diasporas, multilateralism and governance. Currently, Josephine leads on the FPC's work exploring the interface between private sector, civil society engagement, public policy reform and state transformation. Josephine has provided on the record briefings to Newsweek and Reuters as well as appeared on Al-Jazeera, CNBC, Colourful Radio, Radio Five Live and Voice of America (VoA).

Before joining the FPC, Josephine completed various interim assignments in central and local government including the Cabinet Office, the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) and the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. She has an MSc in Development Studies from the School of Oriental and Africa Studies (SOAS) at the University of London and a BA (Hons) in Economics and French.
